Lighting

Lighting is often the last thing chosen for a room and the first thing noticed when it is right. The Feelter's lighting collection is a tight edit of designer table lamps and a statement floor lamp, each chosen as much for its form as for the light it gives. The range moves from the playful Iris mushroom table lamp to mid-century pieces like the Calypso and the Artemis, in finishes that include brushed brass, chrome, marble and high gloss. A table lamp does its best work on side tables in the living room or on bedside tables in the bedroom, adding a low, warm layer of light that an overhead fitting cannot. Browse the wider living room furniture range to style the complete space.

Lamps That Shape a Room

Every lamp in the collection is designed to be looked at as well as switched on. The Iris Mushroom Table Lamp brings a rounded dome and a pop of orange or white to a desk, shelf or bedside. The Calypso Table Lamp pairs a classical column base with a shade drawn from 1960s space-age design, while the Artemis Table Lamp takes its cue from mid-century Italian lighting in black or brushed brass. The Maia Table Lamp balances on an abstract marble base for its signature leaning look, the Cleo Table Lamp pairs a chrome body with a glossy white head, and the Aphrodite Stacked Gourd Floor Lamp adds height with a glossy, sculptural silhouette in black or white.

Where a lamp sits matters as much as which lamp you choose. A table lamp on a sideboard or console brings the light down to surface level and makes a large room feel more intimate. On a side table beside the sofa, it gives focused reading light without lighting the whole room. A floor lamp works best in a corner or behind a lounge chair, where it adds vertical presence and fills the gaps that overhead lighting leaves. Pair a floor lamp with one or two table lamps at different heights and the room gains depth instead of feeling flat.

For a warm, settled feel in living rooms and bedrooms, choose a bulb in the 2700 to 3000 Kelvin range. Cooler light above 4000 Kelvin suits a study or home office where focus matters more than atmosphere. Most lamps in the range are sold without a bulb, and the bulb each one needs is listed in the Specifications tab on its product page. Selected pieces from across The Feelter's range are on display at the showroom in Coburg, Melbourne, so you can check scale and finish in person before you buy.
