Tranquil Oasis - Sculpting Gentle Serenity From a Coarse Surface

Earlier in 2025 we had the pleasure of being able to assist students from the Whitehouse Institute of Design to create their magazine mock-ups based around lifestyle and interior photography. We worked with them to help provide the furniture pieces they felt best suited their selected themes and help present the eloquent side of furnishing interiors.

The design concept ‘Tranquil Oasis’ of this editorial embodies a calm, airy and textured colour palette. This concept aims to evoke a feeling of peacefulness and silence amongst the clean balanced imagery.

An oasis is a ‘fertile stop in the desert, where water is found’ Oxford University Press (2025). It is one of the world’s phenomena created by “a cooling effect caused by vegetation” Potchter et al. (2008 p. 1721) where greenery flourishes unexpectedly from the dried landscapes. The presence of a desert oasis is symbolism of a haven of sustenance, alleviating one’s worries and fears to a sense of tranquility and calm.

The elements and principles used throughout the editorial all work together to create a clean narrative. By using rounded edges and tactile curves, contrasting with strong lines and textured forms compliments the ‘Oasis’ theme. Tranquility is associated with the soft off-white, sand and grey colours of the palette with a hint of a new life pale green, through the gentleness the palette has to the eye.

In her recent styling feature, Amelia reimagined outdoor living through the lens of tranquil minimalism. Drawing inspiration from our fibreglass outdoor collection, she crafted a space that felt both serene and striking — a visual balance of stillness and form.

Her design leaned into the ethereal quality of our fibreglass pieces, allowing the chalky white curves and organic silhouettes to echo the textures of stone and light. The result? A magazine-worthy composition that blurred the lines between interior design and nature — worthy of a living room or gallery

Each piece, originally showcased in our Melbourne showroom, was reinterpreted and celebrated with the sculptural presence and versatility of our fibreglass range. The products used are available on our storefront:
